Undusted: Letters from the Past is a cozy cleaning simulator that uncovers a heartfelt and warming family past.

Undusted: Letters from the Past puts you in the shoes of someone returning home following their mother’s passing. As you clean the objects in the house, you will experience forgotten moments you might have taken for granted. The game offers a relaxing ASMR experience, letting you clean and restore items with soothing sounds and gorgeous interactable 3D objects rendered in stylized pixelated visuals.

History

Yoonjeong Choi, the director of Undusted: Letters from the Past, was previously the art director for a game called Kill The Crows. After launching in 2024 and achieving more success than expected, she felt encouraged to venture with a game of her own design.

She has always wanted to create a game that could deliver the same type of “oddly satisfying” feeling found in ASMR and restoration videos. Based on this idea, she developed a short demo, which turned out quite satisfying, and this concept laid the foundation for the full game development.

Unlike most cleaning games that focus on spaces, the developer 5minlab wanted to shift the focus to individual items, especially those with deep narrative significance. In this game, each item is intricately connected to the story and characters, offering a unique way to uncover the narrative.
